Life's Ruff

We have a menagerie of pets, a zoo if you will. My family has always had a soft spot for animals: rescuing strays and always having a dog in the house. Seriously, as the movie (Disney) Earth ended and the lights came on, the three of us were stifling our sniffles and wiping away tears!

Haley has been a member of the family for 14 years. She's the chowhound, the "sheep herder" and the loudmouth. This has been a difficult week for Hales since a tumor has popped up on her leg. She's been in and out of the vet, poked and prodded and we still don't know what's going on. Through it all, her eyes are still bright and she hasn't lost an ounce of personality. She's dealing with it much better than the rest of us; animals are resilient like that.

Alyssa | Senior

Alyssa came in for her consultation with two suggestions: she wanted to incorporate music and wear her prom dress. Check and check! She brought the cutest clothes- I'm lovin' the bright colors- and that plaid skirt... So adorable!

Late Night Sneak Peek

I turn into a pumpkin at 10:00, so 11:30 is late to me- don't make fun! Here is a teaser from my fab session with Alyssa this evening with more to come!

Gathard | Family

I'm playing catch up, but never manage to catch up to much! Blogging has been on my "back burner" as I run around like a spastic chicken chatting with seniors and scheduling sessions. Next week is going to be A-MAZING with all of these sweet and gorgeous senior girls that asked me to take their photos! I'm pumped!

Now, to the real reason for my post. I met up with the Gathard family during the forth of July holiday. It was one of the only weekends that Anna would be with all three of her grandchildren and she was in desperate need of a Christmas card picture.

What I loved most about the session was the way Maggie took care of her younger sister. She would whisper to Chloe, "show me how an angel would smile" and Chloe's eyes would sparkle as her smile lit up the room. I could see how much they love each other and expect these girls to grow up as best friends.

A New Leaf

I'm making a change. Not just regarding my business, but with my life. I'm done being unhappy and dissatisfied with life. I've been in this rut for much to long and I'm so over it! "I'm coming out, I want the world to know!"

My inspiration: Miss Jasmine. Not only is she is a fabulous photographer, but what I really appreciate and admire about her is her spirit and love for life. She doesn't hide it, this girl is open and honest- she puts her emotions and experiences out there ("there" being the world-wide web) for all to see. Unapologetically (is that a word...? It is now!).

So I'm done. Just like that. I'm holding onto life with both hands, but I'm going to enjoy the ride. It's too short. How quickly I am to forget and take for granted what I have been given.

So, Jasmine Star, thank you for the wake-up call.

Spontaneous Session

God bless Joshua. We were finishing up dinner the other night and I look out the window "Look at that light!" I grabbed my camera, pulled my fiance out the door for a makeshift photo session. While climbing up on the hay-bail, he gets bird poop all over his shirt... It's amazing he puts up with me!

Daniel| Senior

I've been friends with Daniel's sister since high school and have known him since he was... 10? (He's making me feel so old!) He has grown into such a handsome kid with a cool urban style and we got some awesome shots!

Peek-A-Boo| LP

I have been waiting for the perfect time to announce my new "Peek-a-Boo" sessions but had to wait until I found the perfect model! My goal is to capture beautiful, classy and sexy pictures- great for anniversaries, birthdays, or just because!

LP has the coolest style- she reminds me of Bettie Page. I was inspired by the 1950's pin-up and think we nailed it! Thank you so much chickie!
